And of course the luggage- marvelous. It was obviously in the full knowledge that the luggage capacity was insufficient to cope with family holidays that manufacturers very thoughtfully came up a huge range of ingenious devices to allow "flexible" storage capacity - rather well demonstrated here.Diplomatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03941539934835529453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611055706073214403.post-27134864772952088112010-01-05T21:20:00.487+00:002010-01-05T21:20:00.487+00:00Curse that diplo...foiled again.Curse that diplo...foiled again.Thudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18320037763190473684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611055706073214403.post-83816586664269088782010-01-05T18:30:38.289+00:002010-01-05T18:30:38.289+00:00Ian's father remembers using this ferry on occ...Ian's father remembers using this ferry on occasions. They did, though, also build a similar but rather more interesting and esoteric ship: MV Talisman, the world's only diesel-electric paddle powered vessel. Hence, presumably somewhere in the Humber.

This ship served one of the few British Rail stations never to have trains, or, indeed, railway lines: Hull Corporation Pier station. It was also, by the 1980s, probably the largest coal-fired thing that British Rail still owned (they did still have a handful of steam locos, in Wales). I can remember seeing it in the early 80s, when it spent about 5 years beached on the Lincolnshire side of the Humber just west of the bridge.Forest Pineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14039467421106380057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611055706073214403.post-889855514564639862010-01-05T09:49:49.562+00:002010-01-05T09:49:49.562+00:00http://www.theheritagetrail.co.uk/maritime/lincoln...http://www.theheritagetrail.co.uk/maritime/lincoln%20castle.htmCharliemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964488383299624526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611055706073214403.post-27687551863627360612010-01-05T09:38:09.259+00:002010-01-05T09:38:09.259+00:00or ESTUARY even !!!!!!!!!!or ESTUARY even !!!!!!!!!!Diplomatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03941539934835529453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611055706073214403.post-68518647727532175272010-01-05T09:36:56.794+00:002010-01-05T09:36:56.794+00:00slight air of The North Sea about this one to me -...slight air of The North Sea about this one to me - Humber Estury ?Diplomatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03941539934835529453noreply@blogger.com
