What can I possibly say? All has not been as it should be in Unmitigated England, but my dear readers should never have been left high and dry with just a clock tower to look at. So, once again, sincere apologies. And also to those who tried to e-mail me on the address attached to the blog. Another major failure with the intranet that has only just been sorted. Normal service is now resumed, and I hope (if anyone's still out there) that the next few weeks will see things getting better and better. Thankyou for your patience. So, where's this then?
Welcome back. It reminds me of the opening titles of Emmerdale, which feature Nidderdale, near Ramsgill. The bridge reminded me of the Blayshaw Aquaduct in that sequence, but having looked it up, it's different, so it's not.
It is the Wye, Phil. And I think you get this week's prize because it isn't far from Ross. I'll keep it going a bit longer to see if anyone recognises the exact location. The bridge has a name, which is also the name of the station you can see on the right hand side of the picture.
Aw, this was a really good post. Finding the time and actual effort to create a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and don't seem to get anything done.
Hello every one, here every one is sharing these kinds of familiarity, so it's nice to read this weblog, and I used to pay a quick visit this weblog everyday.
I am a designer, writer and photographer who spends all his time looking at England, particularly buildings and the countryside. But I have a leaning towards the slightly odd and neglected, the unsung elements that make England such an interesting place to live in. I am the author and photographer of over 25 books, in particular Unmitigated England (Adelphi 2006), More from Unmitigated England (Adelphi 2007), Cross Country (Wiley 2011), The Cigarette Papers (Frances Lincoln 2012), Preposterous Erections (Frances Lincoln 2012) and English Allsorts (Adelphi 2015)
"Open this book with reverence. It is a hymn to England". Clive Aslet
Preposterous Erections
"Enchanting...delightful". The Bookseller "Cheekily named" We Love This Book
The Cigarette Papers
"Unexpectedly pleasing and engrossing...beautifully illustrated". The Bookseller
Cross Country
"Until the happy advent of Peter Ashley's Cross Country it has, ironically, been foreigners who have been best at celebrating Englishness". Christina Hardyment / The Independent
More from Unmitigated England
"Give this book to someone you know- if not everyone you know." Simon Heffer, Country Life. "When it comes to spotting the small but telling details of Englishness, Peter Ashley has no equal." Michael Prodger, Sunday Telegraph

well - it has a look of the River Usk about but I don't recognise it

Up North anyway.
Diplo is in the right area, but it's not the Usk.
well that'll be the Taff then - can't name the bridge though
Not the Taff Diplo. It's a river that I think you claim to know every inch of.
A stab in the dark: not the Wye not far from Ross is it?

It looks like Kerne Bridge at Symonds Yat.
is it where the harry potter trains go??? nyahaha.
My guess would be St. Briavels
I think the Vintage Knitter has it all sewn up.
Yes indeed, well done VK. It is indeed Kerne Bridge. Just out of the photograph on the left is the magnificent pink sandstone Goodrich Castle.
No idea but welcome back.
