Where's That Then? No 20
I thought I'd try something different for this week's puzzle picture. Instead of rummaging through dusty books for old photographs, I thought for this 20th in the series (please tell me if you're fed up with it and I'll think of something else) I'd get you guessing where I was yesterday afternoon. Clue: unless I'd got a handy rowing boat, I was sixteen miles away from a pint in the Rose & Crown.

Walberswick, looking across towards Southwold? - a pure guess based on looking at the map!
Err...the building marked 'Nottage Maritime Institute' is a bit of a giveaway. That fine museum is in Wivenhoe.
....which means, I suppose, that you were at the ferry hard in Fingringhoe.
Oh Chris P, you know your Essex! I wondered if there was a giveaway clue, but only saw the poster that had half peeled off the wall, so that it said '...hoe'. I was indeed on the Fingringhoe shore, which I love. Well spotted.
Is that anywhere near Basildon?
Not really W.H. Nor is it near Harlow, Brentwood or Billericay Dickie. But I expect you know that.
And Chris P: Not exactly on the ferry hard, but squelching in Unmitigated Mud.
Why not swim across? Should work up a thirst, assuming you survive. I'm not sick of the Where's That Thens at all, keep them up.
Thankyou E.J. Swimming across did occur, and as the tide on the Colne was at its lowest I did consider a paddle. My main worry (myself and water always involves people running along a bank with a lifebelt) was being sucked down into the ooze, my cries going unheard by those already drinking outside the pub.
I think I can read the word Wivenhoe on the stern of one of those boats.....
Oh no, I think you're right Phil. I promise to work harder on the next one.
oh yes - vefry clever - 16 miles and all that.
I'm quite happy with these "modern" or current images. Having only just got used to colour photography myself,I wonder weather you might try the monochrome button on your image maker - or - "remove" the colour via photoshop. I'd have got it straight away then.
Of course, Diplo. Comin' up.
My brother suggested I may like this blog. He was once totally right.
This put up actually made my day. You cann't believe just how so much time I had spent for this info! Thanks!

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect
with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only
having one or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?

This site was... how do I say it? Relevant!! Finally I've found something that helped me. Cheers!

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about
this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home
a bit, but other than that, this is fantastic blog.
A fantastic read. I'll definitely be back.
